This kimono Fabric is called Shibori and it is uneven and expressive.

Kiri (Paulownia wood) pen tray with vintage kimono.

Two basic colors: brown and navy blue; options for holding 5,10 and 15 pens. The pen tray is stackable.

- KIRI wood: Paulownia wood is also used in chests of drawers for storing kimonos. It has low moisture absorption and excellent heat insulation properties.
It has a humidity-controlling effect and can protect against mold and insect bites caused by moisture.

- Sakura (cherry tree) tree bark: We present you this unique pen tray made of cherry tree bark.

During the rainy season, after the bark of the cherry tree are softened, the craftsmen would go into the mountains and strip only the bark , then bring them back to their atelier to prepare and process. This is a traditional craft from the northeastern part of Japan. 

The bark of the cherry tree is not painted at all, it is shiny, strong, and luxurious in appearance.
